Converts to other formats well
I’m still a big fan of Preview, but this app does do certain things well. For example, it converted a very long PDF document to text so quickly I thought it had failed - until I examined the file. If you do want to use it as your default PDF viewer, OS X makes that easy. Simply open the Get Info box on any PDF file, change the "Open with:” drop down to PDF Reader++, and then click on the “Change All…” button below that. You’re done. I couldn’t resist giving it a great review because it’s no fault of PDF Reader++ that it fails to provide an unnecessary alternate way of doing this.
