PDF Reader ++

I agree with what everyone else says…very nice app!

Works great

I just needed something to view PDF’s and this is perfect.

A Gift

Just use it as a temporary substitute after I accidentally deleted my acrobat. Now I decided to keep it and forget all about acrobat.

Works well, but

I needed a pdf app that would permit deleting pages or extracting pages. when I read the description of this product I thought these were included functions. They are not. As a pdf viewer it works great. Its not a pdf editor.

underlines and highlights

I expected the App to have these features I need when I study. An upgrade will be very helpful.

best pdf reader

Download this. I think this is the best pdf reader for me. Although there is still bug that when you zoom in, some part of the content will disappear from certain region, you can still scroll to read. Anyway, best reader for me so far on mac!

It works about half the time

The last time I downloaded Adobe onto my Mac, I had a lot of problems. Removed Adobe, removed the problems. So I went looking on the App Store and found this program. It is one of the higher rated PDF programs, but it shouldn’t be. So it’s now late, I have to print, sign and scan a bunch of documents and they are not displaying. Looks like it’s going to be another long frustating night with my Mac and Adobe PDFs.

Good but not great enough!

If you compare PDF Reader ++ with Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can easily find out that the rendering of pdf file in Abobe is much clear than PDF Reader ++, although PDF Reader ++ is better than Adobe in annotating. Let’s hope PDF Reader ++ can improve in the near future.

Do NOT buy this tool

The current version just does not work properly. I use single page continuous. If I use “Automacally Resize”. I get an *unusable* interface of jumpled characters. This tool flat out does NOT work properly. I have 4+ PDF readers, becaues I live reading PDF’s.. this tool is unusable. Maybe they will fix it, but for now, it’s a complete waste of cash. I don’t know how there can be 18 5 star ratings.. I suspect that is the author or 18 of his friends rating it as a 5. He better make it actually work before he gets ME to rate it more than a 1.

No problems

I have found no problems with this current version of PDF Reader++.

Looks like a rip-off of the Skim app

It appears to me that PDF Reader++ is a modified copy of the well-known open-source Skim app. If so, then it means the developer has violated Skims open-source license. I like Skim and use it frequently; but Id rather use the real thing rather than pay for a copy of it.

The Best pdf reader i have used ,just dont make it for pay

previous version was not smooth to use as it shows some proble while on double pages or continious pages but now its not showing any thank you

Works Great for Me!

I do not delve into the deep features of this app. I mainly use if for viewing pdf documents, and oh boy does this app make that task easy and enjoyable. This app is extremely responsive and user-friendly, two features that Adobe seems to deliberately ignore with their in-house software. This will be my PDF reader for years to come.

Annotation just doesn’t work!

Highlite only highlites the ENTIRE page. Opacity, not possible to select. Selection tools are too quirky to use. NO UNDO/REDO … in other words, it appears they spent all their time on the GUI but forgot to make any of it work. And, the GUI leaves much to be desired. $5… go get a beer instead, you’ll be happier!

Easy to use

Good product

The Color Pinwheel of Death

I got this app in order to view USGS topographic maps downloaded from the USGS Store. Nat Geo’s Topo is no longer available, and I have to find an alternative for my MacBook. When I try to view a quad I get the color pinwheel. When I try to move around a quad I get the color pinwheel. When I agree to rate the app I get the color pinwheel. I sure hope there is a better app somewhere.

Some nice features, some weirdness

Your specific needs will determine whether this app works for you. I use a PDF editor to add monthly bank statements to an existing document and bookmark them. In this app, there is no option to add pages; you can only merge existing documents. And then you can’t rearrange pages. And while it will dutifully display existing bookmarks in the sidebar (including nested, and showing page numbers), any bookmarks it creates go into a bookmark menu drop-down — along with every bookmark from every other document. It calls existing bookmarks “Table of Contents,” but offers no tool for adding to or modifying the table of contents. Hopefully that can be added. So for me it doesn’t serve for my most often use. I note that it’s got presentation options, a variety of markup tools, and a number of conversion options. The text conversion is noteworthy in that it preserves the look of the document with spaces. If you’ve ever tried to extract text from a PDF, you might find this alone worth it. It also has a well-done interface for converting to image formats, more convenient, in fact, than Acrobat. The HTML conversion crashed one document and did a surprisingly nice job with another. You can save as a PDF bundle, whatever that means, add emojis, and it looks like it’s got a pretty comprehensive set of note-management features. You can draw ovals, boxes, and lines. Navigation is nice, with OPT- and CMD- scroll wheel being zoom and navigate up-down. There’s a “reading bar” which you can show…no idea what it’s supposed to do; there is no help documentation. You can split the screen so look at one portion of the document on the top and another on the bottom. That could be a pretty cool feature in some contexts. Again, it all depends on what you need to do.

Great functionality and easy to customize

I love this program, and use it over Acrobat Reader as my default PDF reading program. The ability to mark, highlight, and make notes is easier than with Acrobat Reader, and I find it overall more user-friendly as well. One of my favorite features is being able to customize the toolbar to whatever you use most often. As a bonus, it will recognize pdfs previously marked / edited with Adobe Reader and include these notes when opening the program—something that does not happen the other way around. tl;dr: This program is better than Adobe Reader; get it now

Love it!

More features than Adobe reader. Awesome!
